Araucaria Kultrún Mapuche Ring
Description
This ring is made within 7 business days
The importance of this tree lies in its subsistence as the raw material for the Mapuche Pehuenche people, who live in the Andes of south-central Chile. They rely on its firewood and its fruit, the pine nut. It is an ancient tree that is protected, and cutting it down is prohibited. It can only be worked or harvested when it has fallen naturally or is dead wood. The Kultrún represents the half-sphere of the earth, the place where life develops. It is an instrument used ancestrally in every Mapuche ceremony.
