Mapuche Kilkay Chain Necklace
Description
This necklace is made within 10 business days.
Originally, it is a clasp used to tie the shawl or ikilla, which is worn at the center of a woman's body. It represents the origin of life for the Mapuche people on earth and considers the three spaces that exist in the world in which we live: the world under the earth (Inche Mapu), the place of ancestral spirits; the earth (Nag Mapu), the place where life unfolds; and the sky (Wenu Mapu), the place of superior spirits. Kilkay-style chains represent the space between earth and sky; they are a bridge between the earthly and spiritual realms, translating into knowledge and wisdom that constantly grow within each person.
